Repairing and overhauling of a Mecasonic NDT ultrasonic machine for testing of airplane parts.

The reason was vibration problems when machine moved in the length axle.




The machine are special made for SAAB and has the size of, 11 x 4 x 3 meters. The size of the lower bearing rail was 3000x28x15mm and was made in 4 pieces. These were manufactured by BCSA and were adjusted and fitted on site. The upper bearing support rail was also repaired. This was also done on site.

The measuring trolley had to be lifted to be able to change the bearings and to repair the rail. It was a delicate process with a part weighing more than 1000kg. The lift was made by Linköpings Tungservice AB.
